i have the viper 10x44 and the tac 30 10x42 and find them both to be great scopes for the money you pay. the viper has a great ret for hft, but so does the hawke.
the hawke has the better glass, but i think the scb ret is perfect for hft. its all about what suits your eyes. only you can know that by trying out as many different peoples scopes as you can before you buy. you wont go far wrong with either.
i also have the tac 30 4.5-14x42 which is great for hunting and also good for hft. the fixed 10 mag tac 30 seems to have a better sight picture than the variable magged one. think you'd be better off with a fixed 10.
